Non-invasive examination method, versatile.
Painless alternative to invasive, expensive and radiation-intensive cardiac catheterization in patients with a low to medium risk of coronary artery disease. The administration of a X-ray contrast agent enables the inside of the vessel and the vessel walls to be examined down to the smallest detail, whereby not only calcifications, but also mixed and soft plaques in the coronary arteries can be made visible. Coronary heart disease can also be diagnosed at an early stage. Before the examination, the patient is given an intravenous non-ionic x-ray contrast agent containing iodine; this increases the informative value of the examination and confirms the diagnosis. Thanks to the latest technology, we are able to significantly reduce the amount of contrast agent administered.
